Rambling – Work

I work in a small office building which is ran by our local benefits centre which is pretty much just a recruitment agency that only deals with people who have been unemployed for over six months. This means everyday I meet people who have been unemployed for either 6 months or the more extreme 20 years (There is one like that). Some of these people are the nicest people you could meet, others are worse than sour milk.

Working in here has gave me a huge perspective on the unemployed in my area, like there is no real specific age, race or gender grouping. I’ll admit there are a large amount of White Men aged between 30 – 50 but I would say more woman in that group may be stay at home mums and not claim Job Seekers.

Some of these people come in and talk away to you and are very polite, others are horrible to you or don’t bother speaking at all. I will admit I have a large preference to the ones that talk to me and make conversation and I tend to remember there names. But I do assume most people are like that.

I’d say I’d know maybe fifty – one hundred of our clients names and out of that at least twenty are for all the wrong reasons. There are some little older ladies who will talk away about what they do in there spare time; one goes out to dances with her friends but complains that they’re all paired off now so its just her that’s having all the fun, there’s some closer to my age who talk about going out on the weekends and getting drunk and there’s some in-betweens who would talk for hours about there pets or the weather.

I have a few clients that I know will always speak when there in, so I make more of an effort with them as they like being spoken to, but there’s others I don’t even make eye contact with. I have a few reasons for this, as some are horrible people, that would scream at you for looking at them the wrong way. I’ve actually had someone who went insane as we couldn’t refund them for a bus ticket he hadn’t even bought yet. That day he even decided he was going to make a complaint against us to the department for employment and Learning and then make a complaint against them as it was there fault overall.

We also have this group of people who don’t want to work, don’t want to come in and don’t want to do anything. I call this group the hopeless group. There is one person in this group who another client has actually commented on saying he needs to be slightly more positive. Everyone in my office knows who this man is and knows not to expect him at any workshops or classes as he just doesn’t care enough to turn up.

I was talking to another client who said – “I don’t see why some people come in here just to be moody and destructive whenever all they have to do is look for suitable jobs for two hours then go home. Some people here must not want to find any work and just sit on benefits.”

After he said this, it really made me think about how many of the people that come in to us have no intentions of finding a job and expect us to do it for them. We can only help those who are willing to work with us and try themselves as well.

Sorry if this is really ramble-y. I was just super annoyed with our clients today and how little some of them care about getting off benefits. Although we do get the odd person who tries really hard and actually finds work, so its not all doom and gloom.

Until next time!

Younique’s 3D Fibre Lash Mascara – Review!

So not that most of you guys would know but I love make – up but I am a self confessed drug store barbie as I feel its silly to pay a lot of money for a product that could run out super quickly. However I recently signed up with both Avon and Younique to become an independent representative with them, so now I have a minor discount with them and when  I started with Younique they sent out a starter pack which contained some of their most popular products, one of which being the 3D Fibre Lash Mascara.

Now I was just like every other person who lives for drug store make-up when this came out – who in their right mind would pay £23 for a mascara?! But since it came in my welcome pack I thought I may as well try it.

I am a huge sceptic when it comes to items like this, as my own £1 mascara makes my eyelashes look long and luscious and very pretty, so I didn’t see what difference this one at £23 could make. I knew it came as two bottles, one as a transplanting gel and one for fibres. I’d also heard that the fibres were what made the lashes look so big.

My first comment on the fibres is – they hurt like hell if they land in your eye, so be super careful about that! I have mentioned just how much of a clutz I am before right? The fibres are attached to what I can only describe as a flat-ish mascara wand, and they will fall off your lashes if you do not apply them as directed and if you do not add the transplanting gel fast enough.

I didn’t do the side by side two different mascaras photo with my lashes as that would have meant wasting precious time before work, however I can see a difference without even doing that. It really does make them look huge. Even the transplanting gel itself added a lot of length to my lashes, the fibres worked by adding darkness and even more length as well as some extra thickness to my lashes.

Now I have this habit that I touch my eye lashes when I’m wearing mascara, I don’t know why or what ever caused me to start doing this, but every time I did before I’d have little bits of mascara come off onto my finger. As of yet, I haven’t had the same amount of transfer. There still is some, but it is noticeably less than with any other products I have used. I believe this may just be a thing with mascara’s but I’m happy that there isn’t a large amount. I also have to wear glasses all day to do my job, drive, use anything with a screen and to in general see, so keeping my glasses clean is very, very important. This mascara has made my lashes that much long than I’m used to so a fear hit me that they would stain my glasses. They haven’t (thankfully) so I still have full vision with this product, unlike a mascara I used to use that left black dots on my lenses, and that was extremely irritating.

So lets get started on how I used the product, packaging ext as I’ve now noticed I’ve skipped all of that.

The mascara comes in what I can only describe as a glasses case. Not a soft one but a hard one that would tend to come with more expensive pairs. Its embossed with a diamond design and the brand name and logo for Younique. Its lightweight and would easily fit in a clutch bag (I did actually try this in one of my smaller ones, it fitted quite well along side my phone) and it wouldn’t take up much room in a normal sized handbag.

Once you open the case a small leaflet with instructions for use is sitting on the top. I found this really useful and if I didn’t read it I most likely would have applied this product incorrectly. It even has small pictures to help with guidance and the instructions are in French and English (I used the English which may seem obvious but I don’t want to leave any doubts). Once I had read over the instructions, which actually state to do one eye completely and then do the other, I saw the product for the firs time. It looks like most other mascara bottles, only there’s two in a case being held in. One bottle is slightly longer than the other (Transplanting gel is longer), and they both feel smooth and lightweight and it is extremely easy to hold both of them at the same time. The inside of the case is also lined with what feels like a velvety material and it also has the company logo on the top lid.

So to apply the mascara, first you need to brush the transplanting gel over your lashes so that the fibres will stick on. This just means add one coat of the gel to your lashes, at this point I already noticed extra length on my lashes. While the gel is still wet you need to apply the fibres. These are also very easy to apply, but care should be taken so unlike me you don’t get any in your eye! After each layer of fibres you need to add transplanting gel, if you want your lashes to look longer or more full, you can keep repeating the process of gel, fibres, gel, fibres. I myself only done it twice as I then felt they were good enough. Once you do this on each eye you have your 3D fibre lashes!

I was very happy with the results and feel it worked out very well. I got more than I expected as I didn’t believe they would actually work and they did. I would recommend this product, but only if you want to have a false lash affect without the false lashes, I also know this isn’t an affordable option for everyone as it is a hefty price tag for a mascara. However it is covered in Younique’s 14 day money back guarantee so if you bought it, used it and didn’t love it you can send it back within 14 days and get a full refund no questions asked.

Also for anyone who wants more information on working with Younique or Avon just comment down below, I can help you as much as possible if you have any questions. Also if you have this mascara let me know what you thought! Maybe you didn’t like it or found that it ran out quickly or if you loved it too!

To-Read Lists!

Hiya Guys!

So like everyone who loves books, I have a to-read list. Some of it is rereads, others are completely new reads that I’ve picked up in a book store for any reason, either the cover, genre or the author.

Right now,  my to read list is pretty small, as I’m pretty tight on money and can’t afford to go out and buy a lot of books (but I still do, and hope I have enough for food)

I try to get through my to read pile at a decent rate, but usually don’t as I’ll start a new book or have a “book Hangover” and I just can’t read another book as I’m still living in the world of the last one. This happened a lot after finishing The Mortal Instruments. I read the whole series one after the other until I was finished, so I struggled to read any other books for a while, or remember what happened in each separate book. So now I try to take my time when reading a book series as I don’t want to worry about spoilers when talking about a book series.

So my current to read list is;

  • The Beautiful Creatures (Book 1) – Kami Garcia  (New)
  • Kissed By An Angel – Elizabeth Chandler (Reread)
  • I Hate Myseflie – Shane Dawson (New)
  • City of Bones – Cassandra Clare (Rereading)
  • The Maze Runner – James Dashner (New)

This doesn’t include any books from my most recent book buying spree, which will be in a future book haul post, but I think its enough to get through about a month and a few bus and train jounerys.

Do any of you guys have a to read or a must reads list? If you do comment it down below and we can swap ideas, who knows we may even find each other a new favourite book!

Until Next Time

The Daydreamer award!

So about a week (or more, my time keeping is horrible) after being nominated I’m finally getting around to completing this post!

So Firstly I want to thank Madam_W for nominating me! Thank you so so much this really did make me smile!

Also I want to thank Caitlin who created this award. So check them out!

Again, there are rules for this award, and I copy-pasted them for you:

1) Thank the person who gave you the award.
2) Complete the challenge they set you.
3) Select a blog or blogs that you want to give the award to. (The amount of blogs you select in unlimited!)
4) Tell them about it and set them a challenge.
5) You can link my blog at the bottom (but only if you want to).

My response to Madam W’s challenge

So I have to share an embarrassing or funny story about myself. This is actually really difficult as I have so many embarrassing story’s as I am extremely clumsy and I fall a lot. So I will use my most recent fall as my embarrassing story.

I went to the Kerrang! Tour in Dublin last month, and as our hotel was only a short walk from the venue, my partner and I decided to walk back. As usual everything was normal, I was walking like a normal person then boom! I slipped on a grate. In the middle of the road. With traffic coming. It wasn’t even a gracious slip, it was like I decided I had to rug the road. I got up as quickly as I could, and after I got off the road, I noticed I couldn’t walk on my left ankle. This lead to about a full week of limping around and not having the ability to walk at all. And trust me, me limping is even funnier than me falling down, its a slight to see as I can barely walk as it is, so then I just turn into a lop sided person who has lost all control. My Ankle still hurts now.. I should probably see a doctor..

Anyway… The Nominees are: *drums roll please*

Opinionated Man (As he already is really interesting so I think he’ll far well with my challenge)

Chantal and Shekinah

And anyone else who wants to try this!

My Challenge to you:

I took my time thinking about this.. and I would like you guys to write an informercal script for whatever if sitting next to you on your right.

I know thats crappy, but infomericals are cheesy as hell and are usually quite funny, so have some fun with it! Make soap have healing powers or a towel also double as a shoe.

Have some fun with it!!

Bucket Lists

I’m nearly sure pretty much everyone has a list of things they want to do with their life. I know I do and I have had since I was about fourteen. I use it as something to aim towards, like the new years resolutions I make every year.

I like having a “Bucket List” as it gives me something to aim towards even when I’m having a low day, so I thought I’d share it with you guys.

  • Feed A Penguin
  • Have one Published book
  • Be my own boss
  • Get Married
  • Have 3 – 5 children
  • Be Happy with my weight
  • Move to the South of Ireland
  • Own my own car
  • Own my own home
  • Be able to Speak French

Some of these are pretty basic life things to most people, like owning your own home or car but to me, they’d show me I’d succeed with my life. I also know one of them is strange as most people don’t aspire to feed a penguin, but they’re one of my favourite animals, and they’re probably the most docile of my favourites.
I also have my new years resolutions, which I try to set every year. I set anything from three to five, and tend to only keep two or three, but I do start work on all of them. This year they are;

  • Start Actively learning French
  • Loose 20 – 30 LBS
  • Go back to tech and gain a new qualification
  • Start and stick to an exercise programme
  • Learn to Knit, Sew or Crochet
So far on these I’ve lost 7lbs, looked into French lessons online, downloaded exercise programmes and made a start on learning to sew so its looking good so far 🙂

Do any of you guys set bucketlists or Resolutions each year? Comment them down below and maybe we can help each other!

Until Next Time!

I’m writing a book!

Hi Guys!

When I was in school, I wrote a short story, kind of thing, and now that I’m a lot older and slightly wiser with far too much spare time I’ve decided to work on it to turn it from fifty pages of nonsense to a proper, decently written book.

When I first wrote this, it was a three part series (kind of) and it revolved around a girl called Ellie who had moved to a new country after something happened in her home town. I would say its a dark romance novel. There aren’t any mythical creatures in it, but there are some extremely evil characters.

I’ve wanted to start back onto editing this for a long time as I believe I’ve improved my writing skills since I first wrote this, but I also know I may change the name slightly.

As I get on in the editing process I may even post a few spinets on here to see what you guys think and if any of you actually like it.

Until Next Time!

Hi! Again!!

Hey Guys!

In case no one noticed in the last post, my sign off is different now!
I felt it was too much to not mention a name, and feel like having a first name for me may make you guys feel better when reading my blogs and any ramblings I happen to post on here.

I don’t plan to change my URL, as that would cause issues else where, but I have edited the likes of my blog title to fit this change.

I am working on a top five must reads post as we speak, which should be up by the end of the week. I’m also considering posting up my workout plan as some people may find it helpful!

Until Next Time

Hey Guys!

I don’t know if I’d mentioned this yet, but I have a love for make – up and hair products so I thought it would be a good idea to sign up as an avon rep!

I’d been considering this for quiet some time, as its a fun new way to meet people and to get out and about.

My mum does Avon herself but she has been considering giving it up for some time, so this could give her a chance to leave that career and it would help give me a head start as she can teach me how to go about getting orders ect.

This also means I will be more likely to talk about their products as I’d have such easy access to them, but I do not want anyone to feel this is the only good brand for make-up, skin care and hair care products.

This will also mean I should have some form of income coming in no matter what, which is a huge issue for me.

I’ll keep you guys updated with this and any other exciting news in my life too!

Until Next Time!

Random Ramblings – Weddings

Do any of you guys ever just want to go on and on about something for no reason other than it’s on your mind? I’m like that all the time!

I am be extremely uninteresting and I don’t have many interests, but I can ramble on about everything and anything. I just keep going over a thought and bring it into a plan and then consider if I could make it happen or not. Like right now I’m thinking of the future and a future career plan.

I like the idea of having my own bridal shop or opening a wedding planning business as I adore weddings. I love the idea of knowing that I get to spend my time in around blushing brides, and bridzilla’s as well as bridesmaids, mother of the brides and even the flower girls.

So since I finally have access to the internet while at work (yay!) I decided to do some research on it and then thought I’d share it with you guys, as well as any thoughts I’d been having.

My main thought automatically went to what I’d call it. I had a few really bad ideas first, as I attempted a rhyming name and an even worse one when I tried out names such as Brides ‘R’ Us, which is the best of a horrible bunch. I then used inspiration from the shops near me, both of which have lovely names – Ivory Bridal and Star Tiara Bridal Wear. I even used inspiration from wedding vows, such as To Have and To Hold and Forever and Always Bridal. Both of which aren’t to bad, but could be rather cheesy.

Once I narrowed down my ideas, I did a quick Google search to make sure neither are an official brand. Neither of them are; but there are other shops with the same names, thankfully however they aren’t in the same area.

Next I wanted to fully consider the sizes and styles I’d offer. I myself am classed as “plus sized” and “a larger woman” so I know how difficult it can be to buy clothes in general, let alone a wedding dress! So if I did open a bridal shop, I’d stock as many sizes as I could. This led to me spending a long time googling if this was a common thing and it isn’t.

After I left work I drove over to Asda, so I could pick up a bridal magazine. I think unlike most of my insane thoughts this will be one I’ll follow-up on. I always did like the thought of being my own boss, running my own business and running a business the way I want to.

Do any of you have ideas like this? Have any of you followed through and they’ve worked out well? Leave a comment down below and tell me about them! Even if you didn’t, still let me know! It could be an awesome conversation starter!
